An accident occurred on the 13th when a worker got caught in a machine at Hyundai Motor's Ulsan plant and died.
According to the Ulsan Fire Department, at around 4:09 pm on the same day, a worker at the Ulsan plant of Hyundai Motor in Buk-gu, Ulsan, had an accident by being caught in a machine. It is said that Mr. A suffered an accident with his head caught in the machine while taking safety measures for heat treatment equipment at the engine plant.

현대자동차 울산공장에서 근로자 1명이 기계에 끼어 숨지는 사고가 13일 발생했다.
울산소방본부에 따르면 이날 오후 4시 9분께 울산 북구 현대자동차 울산공장에서 30대 후반 근로자 A씨가 기계에 끼는 사고를 당했다. A씨는 엔진공장 열처리 장비 안전 조치 중 기계에 머리가 끼며 사고를 당한 것으로 전해졌다.
A씨는 함께 작업 중이던 동료의 신고로 출동한 소방당국에 의해 병원으로 이송됐으나 결국 숨졌다.
현대차는 "유명을 달리하신 고인의 명복을 빌고 유가족분들께도 깊은 위로의 말씀을 드린다"며 "정확한 사고 경위에 대해서는 현재 면밀히 조사 중에 있으며 후속 대책 마련에 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
현대차 울산공장은 중대재해 처벌 등에 관한 법률(중대재해법) 적용 대상이다. 고용노동부 관계자는 "중대재해처벌법과 산업안전보건법 위반 여부를 조사 중"이라며 "현장에서 정확한 사고경위 조사 후 작업 중지 범위를 결정할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
