GC Biopharma announced on the 10th that it has launched ‘Vegetable Lutein Zeaxanthin 24’, which contains 24mg of lutein and zeaxanthin, the full content of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
This functional food can help improve overall eye health and fatigue by taking one capsule daily. The entire macula can be protected by simultaneously ingesting zeaxanthin, which makes up the center of the macula, and lutein, which is distributed in the periphery. GC Green Cross added beta-carotene, which forms skin and mucous membranes and helps the growth and development of epithelial cells.
The company explained that this product is differentiated from general notice-type products that can be sold immediately without separate approval procedures if it meets the standard specifications by using individually approved lutein zeaxanthin complex extracts recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as raw materials.

GC녹십자는 루테인과 지아잔틴 성분이 식약처 최대 함량인 24mg 함유된 ‘식물성 루테인지아잔틴24’를 출시했다고 10일 밝혔다.
해당 제품은 하루 한 캡슐 섭취로 전반적인 눈건강과 피로도 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있는 건강기능식품이다. 황반 중심부를 구성하는 지아잔틴과 주변부에 분포한 루테인을 동시에 섭취해 황반 전체를 보호할 수 있다. GC녹십자는 피부와 점막을 형성하고 상피세포의 성장과 발달에 도움을 주는 베타카로틴을 첨가했다.
회사 측은 이번 제품이 식약처로부터 인정받은 개별인정형 루테인지아잔틴복합추출물을 원료로 사용해 기준 규격에 맞추면 별도 인정 절차 없이 바로 판매 가능한 일반고시형 제품과 차별점을 보인다고 설명했다.
