Lotte Duty-Free has acquired the International Organization for Standardization's Compliance Management System (ISO 37301) certification, the first duty-free retailer to have achieved such official recognition.

ISO 37301 is an international benchmark certifying that a company's compliance policies and risk-management systems are aligned with global standards. It is also used as a standard to assess a company's compliance management policies when screening potential business partners.

Lotte Duty-Free said that this certification demonstrates their comprehensive process to identify and prevent compliance risks in advance.

The leading travel retailer secured the Anti-Corruption Management System (ISO 37001) certification for anti-corruption and ethical management in 2021. The accreditation recognizes Lotte Duty-Free as a model company that meets global eco-friendly and ethical management standards.

In 2021, the company established a Compliance Management System by creating a Compliance Committee made up of experts from outside the company under the direct supervision of the CEO.

The program involves an integrated management process to prevent legal risks arising from business activities. Through this, the company updated its Fair Trade and Customs compliance policies and anti-corruption-related regulations and began operating a risk-management system.

In August, Lotte Duty-Free launched the slogan 'Let's Think of the Rule' within and outside the organization. The message aims to improve internal executives' and employees' transparency and reliability and solidify the company's commitment to win-win cooperation with stakeholders such as brands and business partners.

The British Standards Institution of Korea (BSI KOREA) also conducted an on-site inspection in Lotte Duty-Free as part of the process for the ISO 37301 certification.

Lotte Duty-Free Management Support Division Head Park Sang-ho said: "With this international standard certification, Lotte Duty-Free's compliance management efforts and system have been recognized," and he added, "We will continue to do our best to become a travel retailer more trusted by customers and stakeholders and further expand the industry. We will take the lead in establishing a culture of compliance management."

Lotte Duty-Free is expanding its training program to establish a compliance culture within the organization. This will help executives and employees follow compliance policies and anti-corruption practices.

롯데면세점은 지난 2021년 반부패경영 표준인 ISO 37001인증으로 부패 및 뇌물수수 방지 특화 규격을 획득한 바 있다. 나아가 올해 규범준수 경영 국제표준 ISO 37301을 통합 취득하며 준법 리스크를 사전에 식별하고 예방하는 포괄적 프로세스를 갖췄음을 입증했다.

지난 7월 대표이사 직속으로 컴플라이언스 전담 관리조직을 신설한 롯데면세점은 경영활동 전반에 걸쳐 발생할 수 있는 법적 위험요소를 선제적으로 차단하기 위한 통합관리 프로세스를 구축했다. 이를 통해 공정거래법, 관세법, 반부패 관련 방침과 사규, 절차 등을 정비하고 리스크 관리 시스템 운영에 나섰다.

롯데면세점은 올해 8월 컴플라이언스 슬로건 'Let’s Think of the Rule'을 대내외에 공표했다. 내부 임직원의 투명성, 신뢰성 제고를 도모하고 브랜드사, 거래처 등 이해관계자와 상생 협력하겠다는 의지를 다졌다. 롯데면세점은 이번 ISO 37301 인증 취득을 위해 영국왕립표준협회 한국지사(BSI KOREA)의 현장심사를 거쳤다.

롯데면세점은 준법경영 문화를 확립하기 위해 임직원 모두가 규범준수 방침과 윤리경영을 위한 부패방지에 공감하고 이를 실천할 수 있도록 교육을 확대하고 있다. 체계적인 컴플라이언스 시스템을 구축해 지속가능경영의 기틀을 마련하는 등 투명하고 청렴한 조직문화를 조성하기 위해 노력하고 있다.
