Recently, KIA announced a recall of its Telluride SUVs sold exclusively in the United States. The recall affects 463,000 vehicles sold between 2020 and this year.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported fire risk concerns due to overheating of the front seat power seat motors.

KIA has received reports of one incident where a fire occurred under a seat and six complaints of seat motors melting. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The NHTSA explained that if the power seat slide knob, which allows the seat to move forward and backward, does not function properly, the seat's electric motor may overheat, potentially causing a fire while parked or driving.

KIA plans to notify owners about the recall and replace the affected parts on the 30th of next month.

KIA clarified that this recall is a precautionary measure following the identification of potential fire hazards associated with the front seat power motors. The company emphasized that there have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to this issue.
